Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY CONTINUES ON in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.
Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.
In addition to being one of the biggest selling and concert drawing artists ever, he’s also composed the songs of a generation — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.
In January 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being affected by Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences worldwide through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.
Ask Siri “who is the top Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In the spring of 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before transitioning from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was selected by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.
What was meant to be a three-month trial turned into a three-year success.
By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to launch his own show.
He began a steady touring schedule, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”
He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has appeared at more Vegas stages than any other.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.
Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., about a quarter mile from Paradise Road.
